Sites I Saw in New Orleans: Day 1

On the first day of my New Orleans trip...

I saw and explored Jackson Square,

Cafe Du Monde and had delicious coffee,

I went to the French market and bought some cute stuff for friends that I can't post yet (they're surprises!)

Visited the St. Louis Cathedral. It's absolutely gorgeous inside and out,

(I also had my fortune told, but I'll go into more detail in another post)

I explored the French Quarter and walked along the Mississippi River at sunset,

Went on a Haunted History Ghost Tour around the French Quarter,

And ate very delicious food at Daisy Duke's.

What a day!

New Orleans Food: Day 1

THE FOOD HERE IS AMAZING

Cajun Catfish from Daisy Duke's diner was so good the first night. The biscuits alone were incredible. Don't forget the tartar sauce!

The famous Cafe Du Monde serves Cafe Au Lait (shown above) and provides a great atmosphere, especially for the stereotypical writer.

More catfish because it's just so good.

College, Being a Freshman, and New Orleans

Oh hey there blog world! I haven't been blogging for quite some time and I feel so terrible about it. I've been so busy with college and being a freshman that I barely have time to blink let alone blog. But right now I'm in New Orleans for a journalism conference so life's good and I have a lot of free time.

I don't know what I'm going to do tonight let alone tomorrow, and that's the most relieving thing ever. I've already done so much sight seeing and outs only been a day. And the food- oh good lord, the good is amazing. I'm going to do a whole food feature just on everything I've eaten so far. The big easy has been incredible, and it's only day 2.

I'm being published!

Hey everyone! The Erie County Fair is finally over and I can finally get back on track with blogging! So I have some big news: I'm being published in a book! It's the Teen Ink bully book and it will be out in September. I am literally so excited! This is the first step towards a writing career, and I couldn't be more proud of myself. I'll post details when the book comes out so that way you can read about twitter bullying that took place in my school. Until then, visit teenink.com for more awesome writings by me and tons of other awesome teens! Adios!

Being Girly Vs. Being Stereotypical aka stereotypes suck

Ever since I died my hair blonde again, closer to my natural color, I have been feeling especially girly. I'm not sure why either, but I'm beginning to feel like one huge girly stereotype. I've come to realize, as I sit here and blog, that it's possible to fit more than one "label".

For example, you can be girly and love pink and zebra stripes, but at the same time love strange music and read hipster blogs in your spare time. You can be a marching band geek who also writes blogs and dreams of traveling the world. I guess what I'm saying is that labels are stupid, and the only one you should go by is your name. I happen to fit every single "label" that I just mentioned. Who cares if your favorite things contradict? Who cares if you like Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus. I mean, my goodness. It's your life not someone else's. You probably don't like all of the things they do anyways. So forget labels, and go buy some name tags for goodness sake.

My YouTube

Hey everyone! Just a brief and exciting message that I am working on my first full length vlog! I hope to have it up by this weekend, and it's me doing the girly tag! Be sure to stay tuned for a weird Q&A

Adventure Series #2: Online Shopping With Amanda

So recently, I've developed quite the online shopping addiction. In a matter of a month, I've learned to find the best deals. Not to mention Amazon Student gave me 6 months of free 2 day shipping! I was very excited, perks of being a college student.

So basically my whole college dorm shopping experience has been online. I've found everything from cheap ad pretty full length mirrors, makeup holders,  shower caddies, and party dresses. My customer satisfaction is very high.

I've also realized the best part of having an iPhone- you can shop literally anywhere. Words can't describe my love for the Amazon Student Mobile App. I will be posting pictures of my new dresses and on my college living supplies over the next few days as they come in the mail. Happy shopping!
